                   Henderson TR Pacific Investment Trust plc

                         New £20 million Loan Facility


Henderson TR Pacific Investment Trust plc, one of the largest investment trusts
specialising in the Far East excluding Japan and Australasia, announces that it
has negotiated a new £20 million multi-currency loan facility with ING Bank NV.


The new three year facility became available from 2 June 2003.


Commenting, Michael Watt, the Trust's Manager said:

'We believe Far East stock markets are looking increasingly attractive,
particularly in light of the recent weakening of the US dollar. The new loan
facility will enable us to increase the gearing of the Trust to almost 15% of
assets and it is our intention to utilise it immediately by raising the Trust's
exposure to the cyclical North Asian stock markets.'
