                   Henderson TR Pacific Investment Trust plc
                       Appointment of Deputy Fund Manager

The Board of Henderson TR Pacific Investment Trust plc, one of the largest
quoted Trusts specialising in investment in the Far East excluding Japan and
Australasia, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Michael Kerley as
Deputy Fund Manager.

Mr Kerley, aged 38, has over 12 years experience of Asian stock markets. Prior
to joining Henderson, he was a Director of the Pacific Basin Equities Division
of Isis Asset Management. Previously he held a number of positions within
Invesco Asset Management where he was latterly responsible for its Offshore
Emerging Markets Unit Trust Funds and other Asian orientated institutional
funds.

Mr Kerley joins the Pacific Basin Equities team and will be based in London.
