Purchase of Shares For Cancellation

Schroder AsiaPacific Fund plc (the "Company") announces that on 22 July 2011 the Company purchased 175,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 223.25 pence per share.

Following this purchase of ordinary shares there are 145,539,189 ordinary shares and 29,011,527 subscription shares in issue. Each ordinary share carries one voting right; the subscription shares carry no voting rights. The total number of voting rights in the Company following this issue of ordinary shares is therefore 145,539,189.
