Schroder AsiaPacific Fund plc (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Porter as an independent non-executive Director of the Company, with effect from 2 October 2017.

Martin joined Robert Fleming Asset Management in 1984, and ran equity portfolios in both London and Japan.  During his tenure in Japan, he became a holding board director of Jardine Fleming, responsible for the Japanese business.  Returning to the UK in 2000, he took up the role of Chief Investment Officer, Equity and Balanced of Fleming Asset Management, before becoming Global Head of Equities of JP Morgan Asset Management, a position he held from 2003 to 2016 when he retired. 

It is confirmed that there are no other details to be disclosed concerning Mr Porter under Listing Rule 9.6.13 R.
