Change to Board of Directors of Non-Exec Director

Savills PLC 28 July 2000 SAVILLS PLC Appointment of Non-Executive Director Savills plc ('Savills') is pleased to announce the appointment of Charles McVeigh as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1st August, 2000. Charles is also co-Chairman of Schroder Salomon Smith Barney, a subsidiary of Salomon Smith Barney Holdings Inc, a member of Citigroup. In 1971, Charles joined Salomon Brothers and in 1974 was named Vice President and Manager of the Firm's New York International Department. He moved to London a year later to head Salomon Brothers International and was admitted as a General Partner in 1977. Charles was then appointed European Chairman in 1987. Additionally, Charles is President of the American Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Fulbright Commission and presently serves on the Boards of Clearstream and Witan Investment Trust plc and the Supervisory Board of Zagrebacka banka. He has served on the Boards of the London Stock Exchange and LIFFE (London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange), and was appointed by the Bank of England to serve on the City Capital Markets Committee and the Legal Risk Review Committee. He has also sat for several years on the Financial Markets Committee of the London School of Economics. Born in 1942, in New York state, Charles was educated at the University of Virginia where he received a Bachelor's degree, and later completed an MBA at Long Island University.
