Scion wins House Beautiful Award

and Launches Licensed Rugs, Bedlinen and Towels

Walker Greenbank PLC (AIM: WGB), the luxury interior furnishings group whose brands include Sanderson, Morris & Co., Harlequin, Zoffany and Scion, is pleased to announce that its Scion brand has won the Gold Award for Best Fabric in House Beautiful magazine's 2012 awards.

This prestigious award underlines the speed with which Scion has established itself in the interiors marketplace.  The Scion brand, which was created in-house at Walker Greenbank and launched in February this year, is a young, contemporary interiors brand with accessible pricing.

House Beautiful's gold award for Best Fabric was awarded to the printed fabrics in Scion's launch collection, Melinki. The Melinki fabrics are all printed at Walker Greenbank's textiles factory in Lancaster and priced from £25 a metre.

This latest accolade follows shortly after one of Scion's Melinki designs, Berry Tree, won the Homes & Gardens 2012 award for Best Fabric under £30 a metre.

Scion is also launching a range of licensed products, highlighting the progress achieved in the brand's launch year and the versatility of the Melinki designs. The licensed products will initially include rugs, bedlinen and towels.

Brink & Campman, the prestige rugmaker based in the Netherlands, will produce the rugs whilst Bedeck, the UK's leading bedlinen specialist, will produce the bedlinen and towels.
