Transaction in own shares

 

The Sage Group plc ("Sage") announces that on 22 January 2013 it purchased 500,000 of its ordinary shares of 1p each through Citigroup Global Markets at an average price of 316.63 pence per share. The highest and lowest prices paid for these shares were 317.80 pence per share and 315.50 pence per share respectively. The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares.

 

Following the above purchase, Sage holds 4,000,000 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is 1,201,900,791.

 

The total number of voting rights in Sage, excluding treasury shares, as at 22 January 2013 is 1,201,900,791. This figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Sage under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
