After  7  years  with The Sage Group plc ('Sage'), Aidan Hughes,  the  Finance
Director,  will  leave  the Company so that he can  apply  his  knowledge  and
experience to the establishment of a training business.  He has been a  valued
and  trusted member of the team and has played a full part in the  success  of
the  Group during the time he has been with Sage.  Aidan will leave  Sage  and
the Sage Board at the end of this month.  The Board wishes him well in his new
venture.

The  Board is delighted to announce that Paul Harrison, who is currently Group
Financial  Controller of Sage, and who has been with the Group  for  3  years,
playing  a  significant role in both financial and acquisition  matters,  will
become the new Finance Director from 1 April 2000.
