At today's AGM, the Chairman of the Company, Mr. Derek Coombs made the following
statement:

'Whilst S & U is not immune from what are undoubtedly more challenging consumer
credit markets, particularly in unsecured lending, we expect to produce a
reasonable year of profit performance.'
