S&U PLC - CHAIRMAN'S COMMENT AT THE AGM

Addressing shareholders at the annual general meeting of consumer credit and
vehicle finance group S&U PLC held today (June 4) in Warwickshire, chairman Mr
Derek Coombs said:

'Our trading performance since my statement of 24th March, 2004 continues to
demonstrate encouraging progress and I remain confident for the year as a
whole'.
