Stmnt re Pilots Strike

Ryanair Holdings PLC 22 November 2000 RYANAIR PILOTS CALL OFF STRIKE Ryanair, Europe's largest low fares airline this evening (Wednesday, 22nd November 2000) announced that following discussions with the Dublin Pilots Committee this afternoon, the threatened strike action in Dublin on Friday has been called off. In addition, the Company had negotiated a new agreement with the Dublin Pilots Committee which will be put forward to Ryanair's pilots for acceptance before 30th November next. The key features of this new agreement incorporate a five year pay deal where the annual increases in pilots pay will be guaranteed at 3% per annum, pilots will each be granted share options over IR£100,000 worth of shares in Ryanair stock at a November strike price of Euro 10. The pilots will also receive increases in their flight allowances and loss of licence insurance cover, which will be backdated to 1 November 2000. This new deal (which was negotiated in direct discussions between Ryanair and its internal pilots committee) will see Ryanair pilots benefit from guaranteed pay increases, increased flight allowances, more beneficial and certain rostering arrangements, and affords each of the pilots the opportunity to participate in the continued growth of Ryanair through the share option scheme which will apply to all of Ryanair's pilots. As a gesture of goodwill towards our customers, Ryanair's pilots have offered to donate their flight allowances on Friday to the North Dublin Hospice movement and this figure will be matched by Ryanair. In addition, Ryanair will offer all available seats on all flights operating between Ireland and the UK on Friday for sale tomorrow Thursday, 23rd November free of charge (although taxes and airport fees will be payable). These free seats can only be booked until Midnight on Thursday 23th November only on Ryanair's website at www.RYANAIR.COM. Passengers who were schedule changed prior to this evenings agreement will be afforded the opportunity of travelling on their original itinerary should they so wish, and they can do so by contacting Ryanair Direct at 01-6097800. Ryanair would like to sincerely apologise to all of our passengers who have had their travel plans disrupted by the original threatened action on Friday. We hope they will understand our need to make precautionary schedule changes, and that they will bear with our people in Ryanair Direct and at check-in whilst we try to reaccommodate them wherever possible. We look forward to concluding this improved pay, benefits, share options and working conditions agreement directly with our pilots, who continue to play such an important role in Ryanair's success.
