Ryanair Appoints John Osborne

Ryanair Holdings PLC 15 November 2000 RYANAIR APPOINTS JOHN OSBORNE TO SENIOR MANAGEMENT POSITION Ryanair, Europe's largest low fares airline today announced the appointment of Mr John Osborne as Group Director of Operations with responsibility for the management and development of all of Ryanair's flight operations, ground operations and engineering functions. Mr Osborne who has enormous experience in the airline industry joins Ryanair after a successful period as Chief Executive of Virgin Express plc based in Brussels, and prior to that as Chief Executive of GB Airways based in Gatwick. Mr Osborne will officially join Ryanair on the 1st January 2001. Confirming details of this appointment today, Ryanair's Chief Executive, Michael O'Leary said; 'We are delighted that someone with John's ability and experience has agreed to join the senior management team in Ryanair. This is at a time when we are expanding successfully, and will shortly add five more aircraft to our fleet, and next year add five or six new destinations to our present network of 45 international routes. It is a terrific development to be able to recruit someone of John's skill and talent in the operations arena. 'John will be joining what I believe is one of the best management teams (myself obviously excluded) of any airline in Europe and in doing so will work with our 1,500 outstanding people to offer more and more competition to the high fare airlines around Europe as Ryanair continues to expand our route network, add new aircraft, and open up new bases.'
