Launch of New Low Fare Route

RYANAIR PLC 2 September 1999 RYANAIR LAUNCHES NEW LOW FARE ROUTE TO DENMARK Ryanair, Europe's largest low fares airline, today (Thursday, 2nd September 1999) announced the introduction of its eighth new low fare route this year. From the 4th November, Ryanair will operate a twice daily service from London (Stansted) to Aarhus, Denmark's second city and the largest city in the Jutland region. Ryanair's morning and evening services will be directly competing with SAS and British Airways' routes and will be offering fares of Stg£99 return (including the ridiculous Government tax), which is 80% cheaper than the mid-week return 'economy' fare currently being charged by the two 'high fare' airlines. Speaking today, Mr. Michael Cawley, Ryanair's Commercial Director, said: 'Ryanair have opened 16 new routes in the past 16 months and the airline will continue to expand their route network. The new route to Denmark brings Ryanair's total number of low fare routes to 35. Ryanair currently carry more passengers than all the other low fare airlines combined'. This is Ryanair's fourth route from the UK to Scandinavia as the airline already operates services to Kristianstad (Malmo), Stockholm and Oslo.
