Electrocomponents Savings Related Share Option Scheme (the ' Scheme')


Electrocomponents announces the following:


On 15 January 2002, the Board of Directors approved the grant of options over
Electrocomponents 10p ordinary shares under the terms of the Scheme, as
detailed below.


Mr I Mason (Group Chief Executive), was granted options to buy 3,912 shares at
an option price of 423.0p.  The options are due to mature on 1 March 2007.


Mr R B Butler (Chief Process Officer), was granted options to buy 2,245 shares
at an option price of 423.0p.  The options are due to mature on 1 March 2005.
