Long Term Incentive Plan (the 'Plan')

On 27 July 1999, the Remuneration Committee confirmed that in accordance with
the Performance Target set for the Awards granted on 28 June 1996 they have
recommended to the Trustees that options over 17,639 Electrocomponents 10p
ordinary shares out of an original conditional award of 36,220 shares, be made
to Mr R A Lawson.  Mr Lawson has until 28 December 1999 to exercise the
options.
