BOARD GENDER DIVERSITY

 

 

This announcement is in response to Recommendation 1 of the Review of Lord Davies of Abersoch entitled 'Women on Boards' which requested FTSE 350 companies to set out aims for percentages of women on boards .

 

Rotork has long recognised the value of diversity in its organisation.  The need to attract and retain female employees and ensure they have equal opportunities to enter senior roles within the Group has been given additional focus by the review led by Lord Davies.  Rotork acknowledges the importance of and supports the initiatives set out in Lord Davies' Report and anticipates that its co-operation with numerous universities, apprenticeship schemes and secondment programmes will promote gender diversity, leading to a better pipeline of appropriate female senior executives.

 

Rotork will endeavour to achieve gender representation in line with the recommendations of Lord Davies' Report and has a short term objective of having at least one female Board member by the end of 2012, thus ensuring at least 25% of our independent non-executives are female.  Rotork will always focus its recruiting to ensure the right balance of skills and experience is retained on its Board.
