Rolls-Royce PLC 4 May 2000 ROLLS-ROYCE WINS $59 MILLION IN NEW REGIONAL JET ENGINE ORDERS Rolls-Royce announced today new AE 3007 engine business worth up to $59 million following a decision by Continental Express to convert options on 11 Embraer RJ 145 regional jets to firm orders. Continental Express, the North American launch customer for the ERJ 145, has now agreed to purchase 161 of the 50-passenger aircraft and holds remaining options on an additional 39. Carmen Lloyd, President - Corporate and Regional Airlines and Airlines-North America, Rolls-Royce, said: 'This announcement continues our excellent relationship with Continental Express.' To date, Continental Express has received 61 ERJ 145s. It also operates 10 37-passenger ERJ 135s, for which it still holds firm orders for 40 and options on an additional 25 aircraft. Firm orders and options total 710 for the ERJ 145 programme and 322 for the ERJ 135. Rolls-Royce AE 3007 series engines exclusively power both aircraft and will also power the new 44 passenger ERJ 140. New orders announced by Rolls-Royce year to date total well over $4 billion.
