Rolls-Royce PLC 16 May 2000 ROLLS-ROYCE PLC WINS US$120 MILLION TRENT ORDER FROM ILFC Rolls-Royce plc has received a firm order for Trent 500 engines to power three Airbus Industrie A340-600 aircraft selected by International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC). The engine order, valued at US$120 million, brings the total number of firm and option orders for Trent powered A340-500 and 600 aircraft to 129 worldwide. With ten customers, Rolls-Royce has the sole engine on growth versions of the A340 and has achieved record advanced sales, of more than $5 billion. John Cheffins, Rolls-Royce Managing Director - Airlines, said: 'This is welcome repeat business from ILFC and a further endorsement of the competitive advantages that Trent engine technology brings to our customers.' This latest order from Los Angeles based ILFC will bring its total number of Trent powered A340s to 13, adding to the 10 firm aircraft selected by the operator in 1998. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in June 2002. ILFC also has a total of eight Trent 800 powered Boeing 777s, six Trent 700 powered Airbus A330s and two Boeing 757s powered by the RB211-535 on firm order, adding to its in-service fleet of 40 757-200s and six A330s. This brings the total value of Rolls-Royce plc orders announced this year to nearly five and a half billion dollars.
