Rolls-Royce PLC 23 February 2000 ROLLS-ROYCE WINS $155M ENGINE ORDERS AT ASIAN AEROSPACE Rolls-Royce plc, the aerospace, marine and energy group, today announced engine orders worth US$155 million for Airbus Industrie A330 and A320 aircraft at Asian Aerospace 2000 in Singapore. It will supply Trent 700 engines worth up to $75 million for three additional A330 aircraft for Hong Kong-based Dragonair. An order for V2500 engines, produced by International Aero Engines (IAE), in which Rolls-Royce is a leading shareholder, from Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (S.A.L.E) will be worth $80 million. The engines will power A320 family aircraft. Dragonair also announced it would lease an additional fourth Trent-powered A330 from International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC). Dragonair currently operates an all-Airbus fleet of five Trent 700-powered A330-300s in addition to five A320-200s and two A321-200s with V2500 engines. S.A.L.E, one of the world's leading aircraft leasing companies, has chosen the V2500 to power 20 A320 family aircraft it ordered from Airbus Industrie in October 1999. Deliveries are due to begin in 2001. It had previously selected the V2500 for a minimum of 22 A320 aircraft from its first order and now has a total commitment for V2500 engines to power at least 42 aircraft.
