NewMedia SPARK invests £1,000,000 for a minority stake in Travelstore.com NewMedia Spark plc ('SPARK') announces that it has agreed to invest £1,000,000 for a minority stake in Travelstore.com. Travelstore is an online business-to-business travel service targetting SMEs and independent business travellers. Companies using Travelstore will be able to plan and book their travel schedules online and use sophisticated tools to manage their travel arrangements more effectively. The company was founded by Darryl Mattocks, founder of Internet Bookshop and its management team includes Bill McFarlane, previously senior executive of Galileo North America and Jason Ellis, previously senior marketing executive of the trip.com. The investment is part of a £5 million pre-IPO financing round led by Elderstreet. Commenting on the investment Andrew Carruthers, COO of SPARK, said: 'In an increasingly crowded sector, Travelstore.com represents a very convincing proposition in terms of both the market segmentation, the quality of the team and its rollout strategy. We believe that the company is well placed to capture part of the valuable business travel sector.'
