             EXPLORATION UPDATE: DRILLING ACTIVITY, ONSHORE ANGOLA

Roc Oil (Cabinda) Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ROC and Operator of the
Cabinda South Block, onshore Angola, advises that:

  • An announcement regarding the status and results of the Cevada-1
    exploration well in the Cabinda South Block, will be made as soon as
    approvals required by Angolan law have been obtained from the Minister of
    Petroleum and also after receipt of approval from Angola's national oil
    company, Sonangol.

This announcement should not be construed to have any positive or negative
implications; with regard to the Cevada-1 exploration well.
