                       MAURITANIA OFFSHORE DRILLING UPDATE


PSC-B, Block 4 Capitaine-1A Exploration Well

ROC advises that the Capitaine-1A exploration well in PSC-B, offshore Mauritania
is at Total Depth and preparations for logging are underway. Drill data and
preliminary log information received to date suggest that the well has not
encountered any obvious hydrocarbons although a final, more detailed, comment on
the well results must wait until logging has been completed.

BG group companies                   11.63%
Premier group companies              9.231%
Roc Oil group companies              3.693%
