                             STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE

                  DRILLING UPDATE: FRANKLAND-2 APPRAISAL WELL,
                              OFFSHORE PERTH BASIN

Further to ROC's Drilling Activity Update issued this morning in relation to the
drilling of Frankland-2 appraisal well, Roc Oil (WA) Pty Limited advises that
cyclonic activity appears to be abating and de-manning of non essential crew has
been put on hold. As at 1200 hours (local time) the Premium 'Wilcraft' jack-up
rig is currently drilling ahead and has drilled to 1690 mBRT.

ROC continues to closely monitor weather conditions.

ARC Energy (Offshore PB) Limited........................... 30.0%
CIECO Exploration and Production (Australia) Pty Ltd........ 5.0%
