Robert Walters PLC ('the Company')

The Company received a notification today form Mourant and Co Limited the
trustees of the Robert Walters PLC Employee Benefit Trust ('EBT') informing it
that they purchased on 28, 29, 30 June 2004 1,500,000 shares at an average price
of 124.633p per share.

Following the purchases the EBT hold 7,445,560 shares representing 8.79% of the
issued ordinary share capital of the Company.

The shares have been purchased to satisfy option awards under the Company's
share option schemes.

The announcement is made for Companies Act purposes, solely in the interest of
transparency due to the structure of the purchase arrangements and the
'potential' beneficial interests of the employees, former employees and
Directors of the schemes.
