Robert Walters plc ('the Company')

The Company has been advised today that the Trustees of the Company's Employee
Benefit Trust purchased 650,000 ordinary shares of 20p each in the Company. The
purchase took place over the previous three working days, being Friday 13
September 2002 to Monday 16 September 2002, at a price of 62p.

The executive directors of the Company are interested in part of the shares held
in the ESOP and, following this notification, the total number of shares held in
the ESOP amounts to 1,949,016 ordinary shares of 20p each, representing 2.3% of
the issued share capital of the Company.
