RM chosen as ICT provider by the Harris Federation of South London Schools

RM has been selected as preferred bidder for a framework agreement to provide technology to the Harris Federation of South London Schools. Under the three-year framework, RM will become sole supplier of ICT products and services to the Federation's Academies. The framework is expected to be worth up to £5m to RM in 2010.

The Harris Federation of South London Schools is a fast-growing group of Academies. Currently operating nine schools under the Government's Academies programme, it plans to grow to 25 schools over the next few years.

RM was selected for the framework to supply ICT to the Federation's Academies following an extensive competitive procurement process. The Group will supply a wide range of ICT products and services, including software, systems, managed services and other shared systems.

Terry Sweeney, Chief Executive of RM, said:

"It's very clear that Academies will be a significant part of the educational landscape in the coming years. The Harris Federation is already well-established as a leading provider of Academies and, with nine schools already, is operating at significant scale. We are delighted that they have chosen RM to work with them as their sole technology provider and look forward to helping improve education in South London."

Dan Moynihan, CEO of the Harris Federation of South London Schools, said:

"It is a key principle of the Harris Federation that our Academies should achieve more working together than they would as individual schools. Our shared approach to ICT is part of this; we want our Academies to benefit from the scale of a strong, centrally provided core infrastructure, whilst at the same time having control and choice over the local service."
