RM chosen as ICT provider for Stoke-on-Trent BSF programme

RM has been selected by Stoke-on-Trent City Council to provide ICT services for the City's BSF (Building Schools for the Future) programme. Appointment as selected bidder is subject to Council call in and to the completion of the EU regulatory standstill period.

The contract is expected to be worth c.£33m to RM over six and a half years. RM will provide managed ICT services to all schools in the City, with initial services to be delivered from September 2010.

Terry Sweeney, Chief Executive of RM, said:

"We've worked with Stoke-on-Trent for many years, most recently providing a range of pre-BSF ICT services to schools in the City. I'm delighted that, after a rigorous competitive selection process, the Council has chosen to appoint us to provide services for their BSF programme. We look forward to working with teachers in Stoke - and with our partners in the BSF programme - to help build inspiring learning environments."

Ged Rowney, Stoke-on-Trent City Council Director of Children and Young People's Services, said:

"RM responded well to the City's requirements, demonstrating that they understood what was important to schools. They submitted an excellent bid which reached the very high standards set out in the selection process. We look forward to them working with our schools to drive forward this important element of education which will aid both students and staff alike."
