Under the Companies Act 1985, Section 199(2a), we are writing to inform you that
as of 18 August 2003 the Mineworkers' Pension Scheme held 3,614,162 ordinary
shares which represented 4.03% of the issued share capital of RM plc.



These shares were registered in the name of Mineworkers' Pension Scheme (Chase
GIS) Nominees Ltd.
