Following the sale of Equitable Investment Fund Managers Limited (the OEIC
fund manager of Equitable Fund of Investment Trusts) by The Equitable Life
Assurance Society ('The Equitable') to Halifax Group Plc, which became
effective on 1st March 2001, the declarable shareholding of The Equitable in
the ordinary shares of RIT Capital Partners plc ('RITCP') is now 8,526,023
(5.43% of the issued ordinary share capital of RITCP - previously 7.56%).
