RIT Capital Partners PLC 14 March 2007 RIT Capital Partners: Directorate Change The Board of RIT Capital Partners ('RITCP') plc announces the resignation from the Board of Baron Lambert with effect from today. He has served on the Board of RITCP and its Committees since 1988. The Board wishes to thank him for the substantial contribution that he has made. RITCP is pleased to announce the appointment of John Elkann as an independent non-executive director also with effect from today. Aged 30, Mr Elkann is Vice Chairman of IFIL, the Agnelli family investment company and is also Vice Chairman of Fiat Group. John Elkann: Biographical details John Elkann was appointed Vice Chairman of Fiat Group in 2004 (board member since December 1997). Born in New York in 1976, Mr Elkann obtained a scientific Baccalaureat at the State School Lycee Victor Duruy in Paris, and graduated in Industrial Engineering at the Politecnico University in Turin, Italy. While at university, he gained work experience in various companies of the Fiat Group, in manufacturing in UK and Poland and in sales and marketing in France. He started his career in 2001 at General Electric as a member of the Corporate Audit Staff, with assignments in Asia, the US and the EU. In 2003 he joined IFIL as an investment manager and worked on the relaunch plan of Fiat Group. He was appointed Vice Chairman of IFIL in February 2006. He is also Chairman of Itedi (publisher of La Stampa), Board member of RCS Mediagroup and Banca Leonardo. John Elkann also serves as Vice Chairman of the Italian Aspen Institute, the Italy-China Foundation and the Giovanni Agnelli Foundation.
