Baron Lambert, a director of RIT Capital Partners plc ('RITCP'), today advised
the Company that he sold a beneficial interest in 10,000 RITCP ordinary shares
on 19 June 2001 at 451p per share and 5,000 RITCP ordinary shares on 20 June
2001 at 447.5p per share. Following these sales, Baron Lambert's total
interest in RITCP ordinary shares is 20,000 shares with a beneficial interest.
