Baron Lambert, a director of RIT Capital Partners plc ('RITCP'), today advised
the Company that he sold a beneficial interest in 2,500 RITCP ordinary shares
on 23 February 2001 at 445.5p per share. Following this sale, Baron Lambert's
total interest in RITCP ordinary shares is 37,500 shares with a beneficial
interest.
