Baron Lambert, a director of RIT Capital Partners plc ('RITCP'), today advised
the Company that he sold a beneficial interest in 10,000 RITCP ordinary shares
on 21 February 2001 at 455.5p per share. Following this sale, Baron Lambert's
total interest in RITCP ordinary shares is 40,000 shares with a beneficial
interest.
