Baron Lambert, a director of RIT Capital Partners plc ('RITCP'), today advised
the Company that he sold a beneficial interest in 25,000 RITCP ordinary shares
on 8 January 2001 at 4571/2p per share. Following this sale, Baron Lambert's
total interest in RITCP ordinary shares is 50,000 shares with a beneficial
interest.
