Change to Board of Directors

The Board of RIT Capital Partners plc is pleased to announce that Timothy
Barakett has accepted an invitation to join the Board as a non-executive
director, with Nat Rothschild as his alternate, with effect from 23 March
2000.

Timothy Barakett is the President and founder of Atticus Capital LLC, a
private fund management company based in New York with some US$1 billion under
management.  Atticus has been advising the Company on equity related
investments for some time.
