Rio Tinto announces that Michael Fitzpatrick, non executive director of Rio Tinto plc and Rio Tinto Limited, joined Carnegie Wave Energy Limited as a non executive director with effect from 28 November 2012. 

This announcement is made pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.14R.
