                       Year End Pre-Close Trading Update


The Board of Ricardo plc is today providing a trading update before the Company
enters the close period in respect of the year ended 30 June 2002.

The trading performance of the group for the second half was in line with our
expectations as announced at the time of our interim results in February 2002
and results for the full year remain in line with market expectations.

Preliminary results for the year ending 30 June 2002, are scheduled for
announcement on Monday, 23 September 2002.
