Contract Win

Radstone Technology PLC 09 September 2002 RADSTONE TECHNOLOGY WINS £2.24M TURKISH ARMY STINGER MISSILE CONTRACT Towcester, September, 2002 Radstone Technology PLC ("Radstone"), the world's leading independent supplier of high-performance, embedded computer products for defence and aerospace applications, has been awarded an initial production contract of £2.24 million by Aselsan Electronic Industry Inc. ("Aselsan") of Turkey. Radstone's integrated system will power the fire control system of the Turkish Armed Forces' Aselsan Pedestal Mounted Stinger System (PMSS), a surface-to-air point defence missile. Radstone will supply an initial total of 50 units, shipping development units in September 2002 and the first production units in mid 2003. The PMSS will meet and improve the short-range air defence capability of the Turkish Armed Forces, defending vital facilities as well as armoured or mobile troops in the battlefield. To meet these different mission scenarios, the PMSS utilises the same core sub-system on two different vehicle platforms known as ZIPKIN (based on a four wheel drive Land Rover Defender) and ATILGAN (based on an armoured/tracked M113A2 personnel carrier). ZIPKIN and ATILGAN will use 4 or 8 ready-to-fire Stinger missiles for short-range air defence. These fully automated firing units will provide co-ordinated operation with command and control systems. They operate during day /night and in adverse weather conditions, improve reaction time and accuracy of the Stinger missile and provide higher firepower and mobility. Radstone's integrated system includes Chassis, PowerPC, and I/O Modules. The PMSS is the first major weapon systems integration programme totally designed, developed and manufactured by Aselsan and makes full use of existing Turkish defence industry capabilities. Commenting on the win, Radstone's Group Managing Director, Dr. Charles Paterson said: " We are proud that Aselsan has chosen Radstone to supply a fully integrated system for this important programme for the Turkish Armed Forces. It is a significant endorsement of our rugged computer technology and we look forward to developing our partnership with Aselsan." -ends- Date: 9 September 2002 For further information please contact: Radstone Technology PLC City Profile Group Charles Paterson, Group Managing Director Ed Senior Jeff Perrin, Finance Director Simon Courtenay 01327-359444 020-7448-3244 Web: www.radstone.com E-mail: edward.senior@city-profile.com For more information about Radstone Technology PLC and its business, products and services, visit the company's web site at: http://www.radstone.co.uk This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange
