The Restaurant Group plc has been advised on 11 April 2006 that as at 7 April
2006 the Capital Group Companies, Inc. on behalf of its affiliates, including
Capital Research and Management Company have a holding of 13,788,443 ordinary
shares in the Company, representing 7.12% of its issued ordinary share capital.
