Employees Benefit Trust

The Restaurant Group plc was advised on 29 June 2007 by the trustees of The
Restaurant Group Employee Benefit Trust (the potential beneficiaries of the
trust being certain of the employees of The Restaurant Group including directors
and PDMRs of the Company) of the acquisition of 1,500,000 shares at a price of
327.05p each on 29 June 2007.

The Employee Benefit Trust now has a beneficial interest in 1,500,000 ordinary
shares representing 0.77 per cent. of the issued ordinary share capital of the
Company.
