The Restaurant Group plc ('the Company') has today been advised that Andrew
Thomas, a non-executive director has purchased 1,834 Ordinary shares in the
Company at 195p per share on 17 March 2006.


Following this transaction, Mr Thomas now holds a total interest in 46,277
ordinary shares in the Company.
