                     Appointment of New Finance Director

The Board of City Centre Restaurants today announces the appointment of Andrew
Page, aged 42, as Finance Director, to become effective in June. This follows
last week's announcement that John Wittich has resigned by mutual agreement
with the Board.


Andrew Page is an experienced leisure industry operator. From 1994 to 1998, he
headed up the Corporate Finance function at the InterContinental Hotels Group
where he was responsible for financing, strategy and business development. He
subsequently went on to become Group Finance Director of Hanover International
PLC (1998 - 1999), the quoted four star hotel and leisure club business.


Currently, he is Finance Director and Chairman of the Investment Committee of
Greenchip Investments plc, an 'incubator' specialising in intellectual
property technologies.


Andrew Page qualified as a chartered accountant with Peat, Marwick Mitchell
and Co and gained experience with County NatWest's Corporate Advisory
department and Kleinwort Benson's Corporate Finance department before moving
into the leisure sector.


Alan Jackson, Executive Chairman of City Centre Restaurants, commented:
