Publication of Report & Accounts 2004
and current trading update


The Restaurant Group plc ('the Company') today announces that it has published
its Report & Accounts for the year ended 31 December 2004.  The Chairman's
statement included in the Report & Accounts provides an update on current
trading for the first 14 weeks to 10 April 2005, during which group like-for-
like sales grew 3 per cent.  The Company's AGM will be held on 25 May 2005.

A copy of the above document has been submitted to the UK Listing Authority and
will shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document
Viewing Facility, which is situated at  The Financial Services Authority, 25 The
North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS.
