                                 Block Listing


The Restaurant Group plc ('TRG') announces that application has been made to the
London Stock Exchange and UK Listing Authority for the admission to the Official
List of a block listing of 531,187 new ordinary shares of 281/8p each. Pursuant
to the share consolidation (under which shareholders received eight new ordinary
shares of 281/8p each for every nine ordinary shares of 25 pence) of TRG
becoming effective, it is expected that these shares will be admitted to the
Official List on 27 February 2006.

These shares, which will rank pari passu with the new ordinary shares of 281/8p
each, will be allotted from time to time in accordance with the exercise of
options under the Executive Share Option Scheme.
