The Directors of Reliance Security Group plc are pleased to announce that 
Reliance Custodial Services Limited, its specialist custodial services and
secure facilities management business in partnership with Ballast Wiltshier
plc, have been selected as preferred partner by Sussex Police Authority to
provide police custody facilities and services for the whole of the Sussex
Police area.  The proposed contract is likely to be worth in excess of £90m
over 30 years, making this, we believe, the largest PFI in the police service
to date in the UK.  Timing in the construction programme is such that income 
from the facilities management contract is not envisaged to impact the Group
until 2002 at the earliest.
