  Sale of Former Chain Factory Site at Burnage, Manchester for £7.7 million

Renold plc, the precision engineering group, is pleased to announce that it
has completed the unconditional sale of its former chain factory site in
Burnage, Manchester to Tesco Stores Limited.


The net proceeds of the sale, £7.7m, will be used to pay down company
borrowings. The carrying value of the site was £5.0m in the balance sheet at 1
April 2000.


Renold will announce its interim results for the half year to 30 September
2000 on Monday, 13 November 2000.
