                    Burton Engineered Conveyor Chain Facility

Renold plc ('Renold') announces that it has today commenced consultation on the
best way forward for its Conveyor Chain facility at Burton on Trent. This
process will involve all representative bodies in the business and follows an in
depth review of the operation in response to a rapid transformation of the
market for Engineered Conveyor Chain products. Renold has a good market position
in the UK and some overseas markets and it is essential to look to the long term
to protect and enhance that position whilst continuing to deliver a competitive,
prompt and flexible service to all its customers.
