Notice regarding the Company's defined benefit pension scheme




The Board of Renishaw plc announces today that the Company and Trustees have
reached agreement concerning the Company pension scheme.

As a result of the agreement, the Company and Trustees are now in consultation
with the members, with a view to ceasing future accrual in the Company's defined
benefit scheme to current members and future employees.

A new defined contribution scheme within the existing trust will be established
to take effect from 6th April 2007.
