Further to our announcement on Wednesday 24th January 2001, within the
statement of our interim results, concerning the appointment of Professor Joe
McGeehan as a non-executive director of the company, we give the following
information required to be notified under paragraph 16.4 of the Listing rules:

Professor McGeehan has not held any directorships in any other publicly quoted
company at any time in the previous five years. There are no details to be
disclosed as required by paragraph 6.F2(b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.
