Trading announcement to be made at today's annual general meeting


I am very pleased to report that both turnover and profit for the first 3 months
of this current financial year are considerably ahead of those for the
comparable period last year. The Group has seen growth in all our product lines
and major markets world-wide, in particular, the Far East and America.


The Company has recently acquired a 100,000 sq feet factory and offices for £5m
at Stroudwater Business Park, Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, approximately 15
miles from our New Mills location. This facility will accommodate, initially,
the transfer of our manufacturing equipment from New Mills during the second
half of this financial year.


The improvements in trading conditions we saw at the end of last year have
continued and, whilst it is early in our financial year, we are increasingly
confident of the outcome for the year.
